5 Tips to Know Before Altering Your Wedding Dress
Écrit par : Oui, je le voeux... le vendredi, 01 juin 2018
You’ve finally chosen your dress—the one that will be part of your memories for years to come and will be with you when you unite your life with your beloved. But… it needs a few alterations? That’s completely normal. It’s very rare for a dress to need no adjustments, and in fact, it’s even better to have it altered. Why? To ensure it fits your curves perfectly and is as comfortable as possible for your big day!

Here are some tips to help you prepare for your alteration appointment at Oui, je le veux…!
1. Choose your wedding day shoes in advance and bring them to your appointment. A dress that’s too long can be dangerous—it’s better to shorten it and avoid any risk of tripping on your special day!
2. If you plan to switch to more comfortable shoes for the reception, discuss this with your seamstress, and feel free to bring those shoes as well.

3. On your alteration day, wear the same underwear you plan to wear on your wedding day. For a strapless dress, we recommend a strapless bra without underwire (like the one we provided during your fitting) for absolute comfort and extra support. You’ll be able to try on several options—just let your seamstress know.
4. For dresses with a plunging back or a very deep neckline, small padding can be sewn into your dress to ensure good support, from the photo session to the early morning hours!
5. Finally, set aside about 45 minutes for your alteration appointment. Remember, it’s also a great time to pick out accessories like jewelry, belt, veil, headpiece, Miss S.O.S. slip and much more. Your seamstress can help you make a selection!

With a perfectly fitted dress, you’ll be the most beautiful on your wedding day!
